'Thru my eyes'
ExPorcia's journey started when she was just a little girl. Porcia's mother taught her how to sew with a needle and thread when
she was 6 years old and taught her how to sew on a sewing machine when she was in 2nd grade. By the time Porcia was in high school she was making jumpsuits, shorts, and shirts.
Porcia was born and raised in Seattle, Washington and graduated from Garfield High School. During the last 12 years Porcia has explored different art forms. In 2015 Porcia created, what she calls, "Wall Hangings".
Porcia started with various shades, textures of hair, and different styles of clothing to represent beautiful and strong women. Recently Porcia added little black girls to her collection.
Porcia loves to create art that celebrates Black Women.
"I dedicate my artwork to my Mom, Dorothy who made me the creative individual that I am and to my brother Dennis for being the reason why I am able to dream again. I am truly blessed."
